FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ultrasonic diagnostics, and can be used for diagnosing May-Thurner syndrome with underlying acute thrombosis. Ultrasonic examination of deep veins of inferior vena cava is performed in B-mode with convex transducer 2.5–5.5 MHz. Sensor is placed along the midline of the abdomen, to the right of it, in the sagittal plane, in the axial plane - perpendicular to the midline of the abdomen, placing the sensor along the line from the umbilicus to the xiphoid process. Then the left iliac veins, that are common, internal and external ones, are examined by placing the sensor along the line from the navel to the left iliac bone, and when determining thrombotic masses, they are examined in colour duplex scanning (CDS) mode. If common, external and internal iliac veins on the left are not stained, filled with thrombotic masses, distal segment of the left common iliac vein in hypersthenics is examined with convex sensor 2.5–5.5 MHz, in asthenics, with linear sensor 7–12 MHz, the sensor is placed perpendicular, to the left of the midline of the abdomen at the level of the navel, wherein the left common iliac vein is visualized perpendicular to the spine and if on one side of the spine it is filled with thrombotic masses, and on the other side is compressed between the right common iliac artery and the spine, deep veins of the left lower extremity are examined with linear sensor 7–12 MHz. If the common femoral vein, the deep femoral vein and the upper one-third of the femoral vein (FV) are not stained and are not compressed during compression, and FV in the middle and lower one-third, popliteal vein, posterior and anterior tibial veins, venous sinuses are stained and compressed during compression, the presence of May-Thurner syndrome is diagnosed.
EFFECT: method enables increasing sensitivity and accuracy of diagnosing May-Thurner syndrome with underlying acute thrombosis by optimizing diagnostic criteria of the ultrasound examination algorithm and ultrasonic signs of the state of deep veins.
