METHOD FOR DIAGNOSTICS OF NASOPHARYNX CHRONIC INFLAMMATORY DISEASES ASSOCIATED WITH INHALATION EXPOSURE TO BENZENE AND FORMALDEHYDEIN FOR CHILDREN OF 4-12 YEARS Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC G01N33/53

Abstract RU 2619873 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: for diagnosis of nasopharynx chronic inflammatory diseases associated with inhalation exposure to benzene and formaldehyde for children of 4-12 years, benzene and formaldehyde content is established in the blood sample of each child, and when this level exceeds the background level, functional and laboratory indicators are determined. At that, the following is defined as functional indicators: volume-velocity indices of rhinomanometry; adenoid vegetations based on nasopharynx roentgenography data and signs of diffuse liver damage in ultrasound. The following is established as laboratory indicators: eosinophils content in the nasal secretion and the eosinophilic lymphocyte index; IgE, IgA, IgG immunoglobulins content. Blood phagocytic activity indicators are determined: phagocytosis percentage, phagocytic number, phagocytic index; number of B-lymphocytes in blood; total antioxidant activity of blood and blood levels of superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase, catalase, lipid hydroperoxides, malonic dialdehyde MDA; number of reticulocytes, number of erythrocytes, aspartate aminotransferase ASAT and alanine aminotransferase ALAT levels. In case of decrease in volume-velocity rhinomanometry indices by 15% or more; presence of enlarged adenoid vegetations based on nasopharynx roentgenography data; ultrasound signs of reactive diffuse liver damage and its size increase by 10% or more; eosinophils content increase in the nasal secretion of by 15% or more; eosinophilic lymphocyte index increase by 10% or more; total IgE content increase by 20% or more; increase specific IgE to formaldehyde in the blood level; IgA amount decrease by 15% or more; increase of level of IgG to benzene by 10% or more; decrease in blood phagocytic activity: phagocytosis percentage by 15% or more, phagocytic number by 15% or more, phagocytic index by 15% or more; B-lymphocytes decrease in blood in absolute numbers and in percentage by 10% or more; blood total antioxidant activity increase by 10% or more; superoxide dismutase increase by 20% or more; glutathione peroxidase increase by 20% or more; catalase increase by 20% or more; lipid hydroperoxides level of increase by 20% or more; MDA increase by 20% or more; reticulocytes number increase by 10% or more; red blood cells reduction by 10% or more; ASAT and/or ALAT increase by 15% or more, a chronic inflammatory disease of the nasopharynx due to inhalation exposure of benzene and formaldehyde is diagnosed in the child.

EFFECT: application of this method makes it possible to diagnose a nasopharynx chronic inflammatory diseases associated with inhalation exposure to benzene and formaldehyde for children, which subsequently helps to prescribe adequate therapy and prevent development of complications.
