FIELD: ferrous metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of cast iron from titanium-containing raw material. Charge containing iron-ore raw material, coke, flux and metal additives is loaded and melted. Hydrocarbon coke substitutes are blown into the furnace hearth. Cast iron and titanium slag is tapped. At that, charge is made on the basis of production of slag with magnesia-titanium module MgO/TiO2 in range of 1.1–1.5 while providing the required thermal mode of melting. To provide magnesia-titanium module MgO/TiO2 1.1–1.5 in slag, MgO-containing additives and/or fluxes are additionally introduced into the charge or preliminary increase of MgO content in iron-ore raw material, and/or fluxes, and/or metal additives during their production.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of blast furnace, reduced fuel consumption, increased quality of cast iron by content of sulfur, as well as increased coefficient of vanadium extraction into cast iron from raw material.
