SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for making medical articles with antibacterial properties. Method of producing a bioactive coating having an antibacterial effect involves dissolving bambusuril and benzalkonyl chloride in a mixture of solvents comprising dimethyl sulphoxide and chloroform, placing a sample of porous zirconium dioxide in an autoclave, adding 15 ml of the obtained working solution, treatment in a microwave system for 50 minutes at temperature of 70 °C and power 1,160 W, holding in the working solution for a day, washing with distilled water and drying in a vacuum furnace for 10 hours. To prepare the working solution, the components are taken at the following ratio: bambusuril – 0.1 g, benzalkonium chloride – 0.1 g, dimethyl sulphoxide – 150 ml, chloroform – 150 ml; or bambusuril – 0.5 g, benzalkonium chloride – 0.5 g, dimethyl sulphoxide – 150 ml, chloroform – 150 ml.

EFFECT: method enables to obtain a coating with high antibacterial activity relative to gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria and high biocompatibility.
