FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing alkyllithium compounds used as initiators of anionic polymerisation and in various organic reactions. In particular, disclosed is a method of producing a solution of alkyllithium by reacting lithium metal with specific surface area of 1 to 100 cm2/g and an alkyl halide in an organic solvent medium under conditions of developed turbulence at a turbulence energy dissipation rate (ε) from 0.01 to 0.3 m2/s3, wherein molar ratio of lithium metal to alkyl halide ranges from 2.5: 1 to 5.5: 1.
EFFECT: achieving high output of alkyllithium using lithium metal with low specific surface area under conditions of developed turbulence with molar ratio of lithium metal to alkyl halide from 2.5:1 to 5.5:1, which is comparable with output of alkyllithium when using fine particles of lithium metal (with large specific surface area).
