FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing a lithium metal dispersion which can be used in producing solutions of alkyllithium compounds. Method of producing a lithium metal dispersion in an organic solvent is carried out by melting lithium metal, dispersing molten lithium metal while stirring in an organic solvent having a boiling point of up to 120°C, subsequent cooling to obtain a dispersion of lithium metal in an organic solvent. Mixing is carried out at turbulence energy dissipation rate (ε) from 3 to 25 m2/s3. Invention also relates to a dispersion of lithium metal in an organic solvent, which has a boiling point of up to 120°C, where the lithium metal particles have a particle size of more than 300 mcm, and a method of producing an alkyllithium solution using said lithium metal dispersion.
EFFECT: obtaining a lithium metal dispersion with optimum size and structure of lithium metal particles, which have high activity, as well as reducing the number of steps of the method, which enables to minimize losses of lithium metal.
