FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to haematology and rheumatology, and can be used for differential diagnosis of anaemia of chronic diseases (ACD) and iron deficiency anaemia (IDA) in patients with inflammatory joint disease. Blood is sampled and blood serum hepcidin and ferritin are determined. Obtained values are substituted into the formula for calculating the canonical linear discriminant function CLDF1. Canonical analysis is used to calculate the canonical correlation coefficients of the centroid R, wherein for ACD the value of the centroid is -1.44222008, and for IDA is 1.52705656. If the value of the CLDF1 function is closer to the centroid of -1.44222008, the patient is diagnosed with ACD. If the value of the CLDF1 function is closer to centroid of 1.52705656, the patient is diagnosed with IDA.
EFFECT: method provides reliable differential diagnosis of ACD and IDA in patients with inflammatory joint disease in a short time by determining the value of CLDF1 function taking into account levels of hepcidin and ferritin in blood serum.
