FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to cardiology and functional diagnostics, and can be used for non-invasive assessment of aortic stiffness. Non-invasive arteriography is performed and the following values are determined: velocity of pulse wave propagation in the aorta VPWP in m/s, augmentation index of AI in %, duration of left ventricular ejection period LVEP in min, heart rate HR in beats/min, as well as systolic SAI and diastolic DAI cardiac cycle area indices in %. Derived data are used to calculate the left ventricular ejection period VEP and the SAI/DAI ratio. At VPWP ≤ 9.7 m/s, AI ≤ −10%, SAI/DAI = 0.85–0.95 conv. units and VEP = 405–425 ms, normal aortic stiffness is stated. At 9.7 m/s < VPWP ≤ 12 m/s, −10%< AI ≤ 10%, 0.95 conv. units < SAI/DAI ≤ 1 conv. units and VEP > 425 ms, high aortic stiffness is stated. And with VPWP > 12 m/s, AI > 10%, SAI/DAI > 1 conv. units, pathological changes of mechanical properties of the aorta are stated.
EFFECT: method enables increasing the objectivity of the non-invasive assessment of aortic stiffness by assessing the aggregate of the most significant values.
