FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: use for real-time measurement of concentration of nitrogen oxide (NO) in a gas sample. Essence of the invention consists in the fact that the device for real-time measurement of concentration of nitrogen oxide (NO) in a gas sample contains an optical cell, configured to hold a gas sample stream, an ozone source for oxidising nitrogen oxide in the gas sample to NO2; a light-sensitive element having an optical connection to the optical cell, configured to obtain a light adsorption value in a gas sample, and a processor associated with the ozone source and the light-sensitive element and providing control of the introduction of ozone into the gas sample using a valve or a pump; said processor is configured to: obtain an initial adsorption value from the photosensitive element; controlling an ozone source to introduce ozone into said gas sample for oxidising NO to NO2; obtaining a plurality of second adsorption values from the photosensitive element over a certain period of time; calculating minimum and maximum adsorption values from the plurality of second adsorption values; determining the NO concentration based on (i) an initial adsorption value, (ii) a minimum adsorption value and (iii) a maximum adsorption value.
EFFECT: enabling accurate determination of nitrogen oxide (NO) level.
