SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement equipment and is intended for determining the position of the external screen of a propane dehydrogenation reactor relative to the vertical line. Essence of the invention consists in a method for determining the position of the external screen of a propane dehydrogenation reactor, when performing which the device for determining the position of the external screen is installed on its upper end so that between the plumb bob and the wall of the screen there is an electric circuit, at the moment of rupture of which due to movement of the plumb bob by the electric motor, the readings of the device for measuring the linear displacement of the plumb bob are fixed by an electronic computing device, which then determines the actual position of the screen.

EFFECT: increasing the accuracy of measurements to determine radial deviations of the axis and/or cylindrical surface of the external screen of the propane dehydrogenation reactor from the vertical.
