FIELD: medicine; food industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine and food industry, namely to a method of producing iodinated micellar casein suitable for use in formulations of pharmacological and veterinary preparations, biologically active additives and radioprotective preparations. Method of producing iodinated micellar casein involves adding to an micellar casein aqueous solution of crystalline potassium iodide at ratio of 1:7-1:9, holding mixture for 5-10 minutes, adding to mixture of crystalline potassium persulphate at its ratio to weight of micellar casein 1:8-1:12, subsequent maintenance of mixture for 4-8 hours at temperature of 18-25 °C and pH 6.5-8.9 with continuous monitoring of the content of molecular iodine in the solution and periodic addition of portions of crystalline potassium persulphate at its ratio to the weight of micellar casein of 1:12–1:24 to continue the iodination reaction, purification of the obtained aqueous solution of iodinated micellar casein from the remaining inorganic salts by microfiltration and diafiltration, followed by sterilizing microfiltration, sublimation or spray drying.

EFFECT: said invention enables to obtain iodinated micellar casein and create products based on it for preventing iodine deficiency, optimizing iodine metabolism and for preventing and protecting against radiation damage, having a therapeutic and preventive effect and invariable composition during long-term storage.
