FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biocompatible ceramic-based composite materials and can be used in making implants for regenerative and reconstructive bone surgery. For the manufacture of ceramic material, aluminium oxide powder is mixed with calcium oxide and calcium hydrophosphate powders at a Ca/P ratio of 1.66 in a planetary mill for 30 minutes at rate of 600 rpm, wherein powders of aluminium oxide, calcium oxide and calcium hydrophosphate are taken in a ratio providing formation of a bioactive phase in amount of 50 wt.% of the total weight of the formed composite material. Finished sintered mixture is placed in a graphite mould and pre-pressed at pressure of 20.7 MPa, then the obtained workpiece is placed into a vacuum chamber and subjected to spark plasma sintering, at which the pressing pressure on sample is 50 MPa, heating rate is 300 °C/min at temperature up to 650 °C and 90 °C/min at temperature not less than 650 °C. Sample is held at temperature of 1000 °C for 5 minutes and cooled to temperature of 20–25 °C.
EFFECT: obtaining bioceramic with biocompatible and antibacterial properties, high physical and mechanical properties and bimodal meso- and macroporous structure.
