FIELD: video surveillance; computer engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to passenger traffic counting and video surveillance systems on a vehicle. Hardware-software complex (HSC) for collecting information on passenger traffic on the vehicle contains on-board computer (1), wireless communication module (13, 14), global positioning system module (6, 7, 8), information storage module (16), power controller (11), remote server, at least one video surveillance camera (3), at least one passenger counting and video surveillance camera (4), and camera switch (2). Camera switch (2) is configured to activate the operation of said at least one video surveillance camera (3) and at least one passenger counting and video surveillance camera (4). HSC may additionally contain vehicle state sensor (10), at least one door position sensor (9), vehicle ignition sensor (12). Camera switch (2) can be configured to activate cameras (3, 4) by signal from door position sensor (9) and/or vehicle ignition sensor (12).

EFFECT: reduced error in calculating passenger traffic with simultaneous increase in the volume of collected information and enabling remote adjustment of the operation of the HSC and control and analysis of passengers during any period of time with output of information to a remote server.
