FIELD: continuous metal casting.
SUBSTANCE: intermediate ladle (10) for continuous metal casting with cavity comprises inlet part (10i), outlet part (10o) with outlet hole (11o) and a filtration system separating the inlet and outlet parts along the entire width of the cavity. Filtration system comprises filtering (1) and wall (2) modules. Module (1) is located closer than module (2) to opening (11o), and between module (1) and module (2), in maximum width (t12), there is bypass channel (2b). Metal flow is provided from inlet part (10i) to inlet side of module (1) and to outlet part through channels of filtering unit (1f) or through bypass channel (2b). Module (2) is provided with projection (2L) with width (t2L) in direction of inlet side of module (1) at distance (d2L) from bottom (10f), which does not exceed minimum height (h1) of module (1), which is not in contact with module (1). Wherein 20 mm<t2L<t12. Module (1) is provided with projection (1L) with width (t1L) in direction of module (2), which is not in contact with module (2) and with projection (2L). Wherein 20 mm <t1L<t12.
EFFECT: removal of solid particles from metal flowing through intermediate ladle without risk of metal overflow over edge of intermediate ladle due to failure of filtration system.
