FIELD: metal production in ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy, namely steel production in electric arc steel melting furnaces.
SUBSTANCE: before starting vessel emptying, level of metal inlet to outlet opening is raised and such position is kept till ending process of vessel emptying. Then initial position of that metal inlet is recovered. Flows of vessel leaving metal are divided from metal flows ascending to inlet of outlet opening by means of wall whose value determines level raising degree of metal inlet to outlet opening. Chemical composition of melt metal is modified due to supplying alloying elements to metal flows leaving vessel at simultaneously supplying neural or inert gas. Metal melting vessel includes rod that may perform vertical motion even outside vessel. Said rod is arranged in front of outlet opening and it has sleeve like cavity in lower part. In said cavity top member with central opening is rigidly mounted by means of bridges; cavity has central opening for supplying alloying elements and neutral or inert gas to flows of leaving metal. Top member extends outside said rod. Height of its extension, height of top member and thickness of slag layer determine volume of metal left in vessel.
EFFECT: enhanced quality of metal due to guaranteed prevention of furnace slag penetration to metal in ladle, effective out-of-furnace treatment of metal in ladle, lowered consumption of alloying elements.
