FIELD: cables.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of sealed power cables. When making a current-conducting cable core, current-conducting metal conductors are laid and twisted together, the space between the conductors is filled with a filler and insulation material is applied, forming an external insulating layer. Filler is applied on each layer of conductors during twisting, and the space between the conductors is compacted. Filler used is an electroconductive composition based on a thermoplastic polymer binder. Filler is supplied to each layer of conductors under pressure, and before application the filler is preheated. Space between conductors is sealed to eliminate voids by crimping the twisted core with rollers with an external profiled surface, while controlling the shape and size of the cross section of the twisted core and forming a compacted combined metal-polymer conductor.

EFFECT: invention ensures production of a current-conducting core of unlimited length, which meets increased safety requirements for use in explosive zones, as well as having reduced specific values of dimensions and weight.
