FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to X-ray diagnostics, resuscitation, pulmonology, and can be used to predict progression of arterial hypoxemia in patients with acute pulmonary injury syndrome. A computed tomography of the lungs is carried out, followed by post-processing using the Thoracic VCAR program. Calculated is an arterial hypoxemia index (Ia) = interstitial changes (%) + consolidation process (%) + no aeration (%). At Ia≥26% indicate progression of arterial hypoxemia. If Ia<26%, no progression of arterial hypoxemia is stated.
EFFECT: method provides well-timed correction of arterial hypoxemia by predicting progression of arterial hypoxemia.
