METHOD FOR ASSESSING RISK OF PROGRESSION OF ACUTE PULMONARY INJURY SYNDROME IN ADULTS Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61B6/03

Abstract RU 2818468 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to radiation diagnostics, resuscitation, pulmonology, toxicology, cardiology, gastroenterology, infectious diseases, can be used to assess the risk of progression of acute pulmonary injury syndrome in adults. Computed tomography (CT) of lungs, liver, brain is performed to determine changes in their structures. Density (HU) of liver parenchyma and brain substance is measured. If there are no changes on the lung CT, 0 points are given, with interstitial changes/interstitial oedema – 1 point, for alveolar changes/alveolar oedema – 2 points. If the liver parenchyma density is 55–65 HU – 0 points, 37–54 HU – 1 point, 29–36 HU – 2 points, 18–28 HU – 3 points, 4–17 HU – 4 points. If the brain substance density is 33–38 HU – 0 points, 29–32 HU – 1 point, less than or equal to 28 HU – 2 points. Obtained points are summed up. If 3 or more points, it indicates that there is a risk of progression of acute pulmonary injury syndrome, if 1–2 points – no risk of progression of acute pulmonary injury syndrome, 0 points – no risk of acute pulmonary injury syndrome.

EFFECT: method provides more effective assessment of the risk of progression of acute pulmonary injury syndrome in adults due to the integrated examination of the lungs, liver and brain.
