FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for alloying zinc melt with nickel during hot-dip galvanizing with the help of powder alloy containing alloying material and flux salts. Disclosed is a powder alloy for nickel alloying of molten zinc during hot-dip galvanizing of steel articles, containing nickel powder 60–80 wt.% and 20–40 wt.% of pre-fused crystalline anhydrous salts in proportion NaCl—7.6 wt.%, KCl—23.8 wt.%, ZnCl2—68.6 wt.%. Disclosed is a method of making said powder ligature, in which crystalline anhydrous salts are mixed in a ratio of NaCl—7.6 wt.%, KCl—23.8 wt.%, ZnCl2—68.6 wt.%, alloying at temperature of 200–210 °C and grinding, and then mixing 60–80 wt.% of nickel powder and 20–40 wt.% of preliminarily alloyed crystalline anhydrous salts and sintering at temperature of 200–210 °C.
EFFECT: creation of a powder alloy for alloying zinc melt with nickel during hot-dip galvanizing, which retains its shape and strength for transportation and storage, as well as providing the absence of smoke and fire when adding nickel to the hot-dip galvanizing bath.
