SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to gastroenterology. Patients with chronic liver diseases are examined for age, blood serum content of matrix metalloproteinase-1, tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1, γ-glutamyl transpeptidase. Then the presence or absence of fibrosis F4 is calculated by original formula (p). If the p value is less than 0.437, the absence of F4 fibrosis in the patients with chronic liver diseases is determined, and the p value of 0.437 and more shows the presence of F4 fibrosis in the patients with chronic liver diseases.

EFFECT: method is safe for the patient, eliminates the need for highly qualified specialists and enables diagnosing F4 fibrosis in patients with chronic liver diseases without the need to perform a liver biopsy, which in turn increases efficiency of diagnosing F4 fibrosis.
