SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an aerosol-generating article. Aerosol-generating article comprises an aerosol-generating substrate and a downstream section extending from an aerosol-generating substrate downstream end to an aerosol-generating article downstream. Aerosol-generating substrate has a density of not more than 0.5 gram per cubic centimetre. Aerosol-generating substrate has a length-to-diameter ratio of not more than 6.0. Aerosol generating system is also provided. Aerosol-generating system comprises an aerosol-generating article and an aerosol-generating device. Aerosol-generating device comprises a far end and a mouth end. Aerosol-generating device has a main part extending from the far end to the mouthpiece end, wherein the main part forms a cavity of the device for placing the aerosol-generating article on the mouthpiece end of the device with possibility of extraction. Aerosol-generating device comprises a heater for heating the aerosol-generating substrate when the aerosol-generating article is placed inside the cavity of the device.
EFFECT: invention enables the aerosol-generating substrate to heat up faster than the high-density substrate, which leads to a more stable user session.
