FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology and is an elective differential nutrient medium. Nutrient medium contains fermentative dry peptone (for bacteriological purposes) as a nitrogenous nutrient base; L-arabinose – as a carbon source; urea for detecting urease activity; iron (II) sulphate heptahydrate – as an inhibitor of growth of foreign microflora; cresol red water-soluble – as an indicator of pH change of the medium; microbiological agar-agar, distilled water. Invention allows increasing efficiency of Klebsiella spp. isolation, reducing the period of their identification based on the principle of biochemical activity and specific colony colour.
EFFECT: invention reduces the time for laboratory diagnosis of microorganisms of the genus Klebsiella.
