SUBSTANCE: invention relates to experimental medicine and can be used in determining the clinical effectiveness and safety of using inert gas argon as a neuroprotector in open traumatic brain injury (TBI). 3-fold 2-hour inhalation is performed with a gas mixture of the following composition: Ar 70%/O2 30% with flow of 0.5 l/min per one animal in 90 minutes after injury, in 24 hours after TBI and 48 hours after TBI.

EFFECT: method provides a neuroprotective effect in open TBI due to inhalation of an argon-oxygen respiratory mixture with an exposure duration of 2 hours.
