SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of polyphenylene sulphide. Disclosed is a method of producing polyphenylene sulphide, involving polycondensation of sodium sulphide and paradichlorobenzene in the presence of antimony (III) sulphide in amount of 0.01335–1.335% of the weight of paradichlorobenzene and an organic solvent—N-methylpyrrolidone.
EFFECT: obtaining polyphenylene sulphide with low melt flow index without an additional stage of washing with N-methylpyrrolidone, which also enables to exclude additional stages of washing with a solvent and its regeneration.
