FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to urology, radiation diagnosis and pathological anatomy, and can be used for prostate biopsy under control of its combined images obtained in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and ultrasonic examination. Performing MRI of prostate in axial, coronal and sagittal planes. Additionally, performing T2 weighted images in oblique coronal plane along scanning axis of ultrasonic transrectal sensor, parallel to distal rectal wall. Further, the obtained T2 is aligned with weighted images in the oblique coronal plane in real time with ultrasonography of the prostate. That is followed by a biopsy of the prostate.

EFFECT: method provides higher accuracy and sensitivity of the prostate biopsy by performing the combination of the ultrasound and T2 data of the suspended prostate gland in the oblique coronal plane.
