FIELD: oil, gas and coke-chemical industry.
SUBSTANCE: downhole motor stator comprises housing made at least partially from rubber, wherein rubber has degree of vulcanisation that varies in circumferential direction along inner surface. Degree of vulcanisation along the inner surface is from 50% to not more than 90% so that the fatigue life of the vulcanised rubber is 50% greater than the fatigue life of the vulcanised rubber by not more than 90%. Inner surface additionally defines a hole in the housing and is made with possibility of interaction with rotor and reception of drilling mud through it. Downhole motor comprises a stator and a rotor passing through the stator. Method of producing stator for downhole motor includes arrangement of rubber casing in mould containing pipe and core so that rubber casing defines screw inner hole around core. Depending at least partially on the fatigue life of the rubber body, a percentage of vulcanisation is selected for at least part of the rubber body before heating the rubber body. Further, the rubber body is vulcanised at a temperature and for a period of time sufficient for vulcanisation of at least a portion of the rubber body by said percent of vulcanisation, wherein the percent of vulcanisation ranges from 50% to not more than 90%. Thereafter, the rubber body is cooled to preserve the vulcanisation of at least a portion of the rubber body in range of 50% to 90%, wherein the rubber body is less vulcanised on its inner hole than on its outer surface. Then, mold core is removed from rubber body. Method of deploying a downhole motor in a well includes obtaining a downhole motor having a stator made at least partially from rubber, deployment of a downhole motor in a well as part of a drill string and generation of torque by means of a downhole motor by pumping drilling mud through a stator.
EFFECT: higher reliability of stator and downhole motor, higher efficiency of drilling.
