FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine, namely to methods for controlling breathing patterns and wearable devices for realizing said methods. Personal data of the user are entered into the memory unit. User PPG signal is received from photoplethysmographic sensor. Data is received from the sensor of the inertial measuring unit IMU. Respiratory signal and heart rate (HR) signal are separated from PPG signal in separation unit. Type of physical activity of the user is recognized by the data from the IMU sensor and the data of the heart rate signal in the unit for recognizing the type of physical activity. Actual breathing pattern is separated from the respiratory signal and parameters of the actual breathing pattern in the classification unit. Parameters of the actual breathing pattern are compared in the comparison unit with the parameters of the optimal breathing pattern from the database recommended for the recognized physical activity. Deviations of the parameters of the actual breathing pattern of the user from the parameters of the optimal breathing pattern from the database are detected in the comparison unit. Using the unit for issuing recommendations to the user on the breathing technique based on the detected deviations of the parameters of the actual breathing pattern of the user from the parameters of the optimal breathing pattern from the database.
EFFECT: provides for independent control of breathing technique by users and/or development of correct respiratory habits based on monitoring of their breathing by means of portable devices.
