FIELD: chemical technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing nitrobenzene by adiabatic nitration of benzene with a mixture of nitric and sulfuric acids, which is carried out in a continuous process of mixing reagents. Method is characterized by that the process of nitration of benzene in a mixture of acids is carried out by dispersion in a hydroacoustic rotor apparatus with molar ratio benzene: nitric acid of 1.1:1. Ratio of total volumetric flow rate of reagents at the reactor inlet to the volume of the reactor is not more than 125 h−1, which corresponds to the residence time of the reaction mass in the reactor of not less than 28 s.
EFFECT: provision of specific volume-time output of nitrobenzene (SVTON) of more than 14.4 t/h·m3, 100% conversion of nitric acid, output of nitrobenzene not less than 99,0% and reduced content of impurities in nitrobenzene.
