SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a cartridge assembly, particularly a cartridge assembly for a drug delivery device, preferably an injection device and/or a pen-type device, such as a pen-type injection device. Present invention also relates to a drug delivery device comprising a cartridge assembly. Cartridge assembly (300) for a drug delivery device comprises cartridge (301), cartridge holder (302), fastening element (322) and a region with reduced mechanical rigidity (350). Cartridge (301) contains drug (307). Cartridge holder (302) forms inner section (303) holding the cartridge, wherein the cartridge is located inside the cartridge holding section. Cartridge holder (302) comprises distal region (317) with needle connector (319) placed at the distal end of distal region (317), and body region (318). Fastening element (322) is placed in distal area (317). Area with reduced mechanical rigidity (350) compared to rigidity of area (318) of the main part is built into distal area (317) and is located between needle connector (319) and fastener (322), so that when cartridge (301) is moved in the proximal direction, the resulting load is transferred from cartridge (301) to fastener (322) and then to the main part area (318) in the proximal direction proximal direction. Fastening element (322) comprises a permanent mechanical connection with distal area (317) of cartridge holder (302) in circumferential direction. Drug delivery device (1) comprises body (10) and cartridge assembly (300) described above, which is detachably attached to the body, wherein drug (307) contained in the cartridge is a drug.

EFFECT: purpose of the present invention is to increase the stability of the cartridge fixed in the cartridge holder against attempts to remove the cartridge from the holder.
