FIELD: oil, gas and coke-chemical industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of external maintenance of process pipelines at oil and gas and chemical industry facilities and can be used for inspection of process sections of pipelines of both surface and elevated laying without use of in-line diagnostics technique. Device comprises a bearing base in the form of a pair of interconnected rings with a gap in the lower part, on which chassis units are mounted, a controller installed in a protective box, and non-destructive testing means. Eight chassis units are mounted on the bearing base, each of which consists of two units in the form of a motor-support unit formed by a geared motor, two shock-absorbing struts and obstacle detection sensors, and a clamping unit consisting of a servo motor and a rotary bracket, which performs the function of fixing the device on the pipeline, raising and lowering the motor-support unit. Controller is designed to control the units of the chassis and their interconnection.

EFFECT: invention provides expansion of technical capabilities at performance of diagnostic and other servicing operations on external part of pipelines without stopping of technological process and manipulations accompanied by its depressurisation.
