FIELD: driving assistance systems.

SUBSTANCE: in the method of timely initiation of the process of automatic emergency braking of a vehicle and control of its longitudinal movement, instant kinematic values and, if they are predicted to be unsatisfactory, a warning is issued, and then braking or action required to follow the object is carried out. Previously observed kinematic values are used together with the desired acceleration of the vehicle to determine hypothetical kinematic values. Hypothetical kinematic values are determined as corresponding to an idealized situation. Warning and/or acceleration command executed by own vehicle is determined based on the ratio between hypothetical values and actual current instantaneous values. There is also a connecting device for this method implementation.

EFFECT: invention discloses a method and a device for timely initiation of the process of automatic emergency braking and control of longitudinal movement of a vehicle.
