FIELD: traffic control systems.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to traffic control systems for road transport, namely, to a driver assistance system for preventing lane departure. The driver assistance system comprises a handler located in the vehicle configured to receive the value of the current vehicle speed and the value of the direction indicators from the corresponding sensors of the vehicle, to search for markings and lanes based on images received from the vehicle's camera using computer vision methods. If the direction of the direction indicator does not coincide with the direction of the exit of the vehicle from the lane or the direction indicator is not turned on, a warning signal about a vehicle’s possible exit from the lane is issued.
EFFECT: increased road safety.
