FIELD: polygraphy.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of security printing, more specifically to an optically variable element for protecting information media from unauthorized reproduction, having a substrate with a coating applied on its part with reflecting properties and a relief structure, which at least partially overlap with each other. Relief structure includes a three-dimensional raster of rising and/or recessed elements, a part of the surface of which, participating in the creation of the optically variable effect, is smooth, the other part, not participating in creation of optically variable effect, is rough. Combination of relief structure and coating enables to obtain optical effects of movement, and/or pulsation, and/or rotation, and/or change of polarity of the image, and/or change of one image to another when changing the viewing angle of the protective element. Invention also relates to a method of producing such an optically variable security element.
EFFECT: high efficiency of the obtained visual effects when creating optically variable security elements.
