FIELD: industry of construction materials.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to use of industrial wastes of metallurgy (IWM) in order to manufacture carbonated construction articles for various functional purposes, hardening in a medium with high concentration of carbon dioxide (CO2). Disclosed is the use of industrial wastes of metallurgy (IWM) as a binder for making construction materials by grinding, mixing with aggregate, molding by pressing at specific pressure in the range of more than 20 to 30 MPa and subsequent forced carbonisation. Said IWM contains the following, wt.%: calcium oxide (CaO)—40–70; silicon oxide (SiO2)—10–30; sulfur (SO3) 0.1–2, impurities—the rest. IWM is ground to specific surface area of 250 to 347 m2/kg, and after mixing IWM and aggregate, the composition is moistened to 6–15 wt.%. Aggregates used are mineral wastes formed as a result of grinding various rocks, wastes of metallurgical production and organic wastes of vegetable raw material processing.
EFFECT: obtaining construction products of higher quality from man-made wastes.
