METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MONITORING UNAUTHORIZED WELDING OPERATIONS ON PIPELINE Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC F17D5/06

Abstract RU 2829397 C1

FIELD: pipeline transport.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to pipeline transport and can be used to detect production of unauthorized tie-ins into a pipeline. To implement a group of inventions on tracking unauthorized welding operations on a pipeline, electromagnetic oscillations in a pipeline are monitored in a wide frequency range from 2.5 to 40 kHz by installing a device for detecting electromagnetic signals of a system for tracking unauthorized welding operations on a pipeline at least one control point of the pipeline. Potential difference between pipeline and ground electrode is registered and signal Uin(t) is generated. Signal Uin(t) is transmitted via communication channel or its amplitude-frequency representation to central server. Obtained signal Uin(t) is subjected to digital processing using an oscilloscope or a spectrum analyser directly at the control point or on a central server after transmission over a communication channel. Processing is carried out by analysing the shape of the signal Uin(t) or by analysing the amplitude-frequency representation of the signal Uin(t). Received signals are continuously monitored by means of software installed on the central server. When the background spectrum changes above a given threshold, an alarm signal is generated with determination of the point of action based on the change in the spectrum and time of detection of signals from the corresponding devices for detecting electromagnetic signals with output of information to an automated workstation of a dispatcher connected to a central server. If the obtained data indicate signs of unauthorized welding, measures are taken to protect the pipeline.

EFFECT: faster detection of unauthorized tie-ins into the pipeline at the initial stage before the beginning of product extraction.
