FIELD: gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pipeline transport in gas industry and can be used to locate polyethylene gas pipelines, as well as places of possible unauthorized tie-ins. Summary of invention consists in that natural gas is marked with iron-containing nanoparticles pumped into distributing polyethylene gas pipeline in front of sector of possible unauthorized tie-ins. That is followed by subsurface probing of gas flow direction with suspended nanoparticles. Iron-containing nanoparticles are pumped into the distribution gas pipeline in portions of different volume with a specified period of time.
EFFECT: such technical solution broadens functional capabilities of application of method for polymer non-reinforced or reinforced with synthetic threads pipes, simplifies technical implementation and reduces cost of its implementation.
