FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of melting steel used in polar regions using molten cast iron with superhigh content of phosphorus. Method comprises a melting step in a converter furnace, in which a raw material containing molten cast iron is melted and deoxidized, with alloying during melt tapping; a refining step by means of a ladle furnace (LF), in which slag is controlled and the molten steel obtained at the melting step in the converter furnace is refined; stage of degassing under vacuum (RH) of refined molten steel; Step of continuous casting of steel obtained after degassing RH to produce a workpiece.
EFFECT: invention enables to select one- or two-slag melting depending on content of Si in molten iron, which significantly saves consumption of raw materials for melting, reduces the melting cycle and speeds up the production process, wherein cast iron with phosphorus content greater than or equal to 0,15 wt.% is used for production of steel with phosphorus content less than 0,007%, which significantly reduces temperature of ductile-brittle transition of steel to meet requirements of extreme cold conditions of polar regions.
