FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology, particularly to a method of isolating total metagenomic DNA of bacteria from soil samples. Said method includes: collecting soil samples, simultaneous lysis of bacterial cells and homogenisation using a lysis solution, centrifuging said mixture followed by precipitation of bacterial DNA from the supernatant, successive washing of sorbent with DNA, drying of washed sorbent and DNA elution. Invention also relates to a kit for realizing said method, as well as a method for assessing the bacterial composition of soils and a kit of sets which enables such an assessment.
EFFECT: present invention provides a highly efficient method of isolating metagenomic DNA of soil bacteria with a high degree of purification.
