FIELD: foundry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing cast iron using a blast furnace with a tuyere. Method comprises alternating loading into blast furnace of first layer containing iron-ore material in form of iron-ore pellets as base material, and second layer containing coke, and reduction and melting of iron ore material in loaded first layer, at the same time with injection of auxiliary reducing agent into blast furnace with hot air injected from tuyere. Filler, which includes moulded reduced iron products obtained by moulding reduced iron under pressure, and serves to provide gas-permeable channels providing penetration of hot air to the central part of the blast furnace, is mixed with the first layer. Average basicity of moulded reduced iron products is less than or equal to 0.5, and average basicity of iron ore pellets is greater than or equal to 0.9. Ratio of average grain size of reduced iron moulded products to average grain size of iron-ore material is 1.4 or more and 10 or less.
EFFECT: reduced amount of used coke while maintaining stable operation of blast furnace.
