FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of cast iron using a blast furnace including a tuyere. When producing cast iron, a first layer containing iron-ore material and a second layer containing coke are alternately loaded into a blast furnace, reducing and melting the iron-ore material in the loaded first layer, at the same time with blowing of auxiliary reducing agent into blast furnace with hot air blown from tuyere. Iron-ore material contains moulded reduced iron products obtained by moulding reduced iron under pressure. Reduced iron products have rectangular shape with bevelled edge on top view, having on both front surfaces bulge formed from central part, which is thicker than peripheral part.
EFFECT: invention increases gas permeability in a blast furnace.
