FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of aluminum sheet for making cans. Method of producing aluminum sheet for making cans involves making a body from an aluminum alloy containing the following, wt.%: from 0.05 to 0.60 Si, from 0.10 to 0.80 Fe, from 0.70 to 1.50 Mn, from 0.80 to 1.50 Mg, from 0.05 to 0.25 Cu, to 0.10 Ti, to 0.25 Zn and up to 0.15 of impurities, wherein each of the impurities is less than 0.05, the rest is Al, heating the body to the homogenisation temperature, hot rolling the body to obtain a hot-rolled sheet, note here that hot-rolled sheet leaves hot rolling mill at hot rolling output temperature of 200–320 °C with hot rolling output thickness. Output temperature of hot rolling is selected so as to avoid recrystallization of hot-rolled sheet. Then, hot-rolled sheet is cold rolled to produce cold-rolled sheet with output thickness of cold rolling, which is less than output thickness of hot rolling. Further, cold-rolled sheet is annealed to ensure recrystallization of cold-rolled sheet to obtain recrystallized annealed sheet, and then recrystallized annealed sheet is cold rolled to produce cold-rolled sheet with final thickness.

EFFECT: reduced tendency to festooning after deep drawing of the obtained sheet; production of stable cans with a thin wall is ensured.
