FIELD: optics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of adjusting optical systems containing off-axis parabolic mirrors, and can be used in laser optical systems. Method of adjusting an off-axis parabolic mirror with a projection in the focal region consists in focusing collimated laser radiation with an off-axis parabolic mirror which is adjusted by changing the angle of inclination along the horizontal and vertical axes, which is located in a sealed chamber. At that, pulsed laser radiation with power in pulse is used, which is sufficient for multiphoton ionization of gas inside sealed chamber, multiphoton ionisation zones are formed in astigmatic foci of the off-axis parabolic mirror and, by observing the magnified images of the multiphoton ionisation zones projected onto the back projection screen in the wall of the chamber, the off-axis parabolic mirror is aligned to align the projections of the multiphoton ionisation zones.
EFFECT: simplification of adjustment process in sealed chamber.
