FIELD: laser technologies.

SUBSTANCE: method of initiation of optical discharge consists in gas breakdown with formation of plasma region, carried out by focusing radiation of supporting and igniting lasers in discharge chamber, wherein radiation of igniting laser is focused by lens and reflected from flat mirror so as to get its focus in region of ignited optical discharge. Mirror is simultaneously rotated about fixed axis passing perpendicular to plane of mirror at point of incidence of igniting laser beam at initial focusing and inclined to it.

EFFECT: reduced ignition time.
