FIELD: animal breeding.
SUBSTANCE: method involves complex assessment of reproductive qualities of sows by selection index, which takes into account multiple pregnancy, number of piglets at weaning and live weight of nest at weaning. Determination of a complex index of reproductive qualities (CIRQ) of sows is carried out by formula CIRQ =1.1 × x1+3.3 × x2+0.3 × K1 × x3+K2 × x3, where x1 is multiple pregnancy (heads); x2 is number of piglets at weaning (heads); x3 is live weight of nest at weaning (kg); K1 is the coefficient of conversion of live weight of the nest on the day of weaning to the weight of the nest at age of 21 to 60 days, K2 is the weight coefficient of the nest weight at age of 21 to 60 days. If the sow CIRQ is lower than the average for the group of peers, then she has poor reproductive qualities, if the CIRQ of the sow is equal to the average for the group, then she has satisfactory reproductive qualities, if CIRQ is higher than average value for group of peers, then sow has good reproductive qualities.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase intensity of using sows.
