SUBSTANCE: invention is a method of selection for increasing the reproductive qualities of sows, which involves collecting biological material — blood or a piece of skin from pigs aged 28–30 days when weaned from sows, testing this material by PCR, determining the genotype using ESR estrogen receptor gene, characterized by gilts with ESR BB genotype selected for the replacement group.
EFFECT: proposed method makes it possible to increase the efficiency of selecting pigs into a replacement group with high reproductive qualities for the reproduction of the main herd at an early age.
