FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to surgery. During operation, content of bilirubin in bile is determined. In the postoperative period, the bilirubin content in the abdominal cavity safety drainage is determined. Volume of lost bile in ml is calculated by the following formula: volume of discharge by safety drainage of abdominal cavity, ml, is multiplied by ratio of content of bilirubin in safety drainage of abdominal cavity and content of bilirubin in bile, mcmol/l.
EFFECT: method enables to determine the volume of lost bile, to reasonably approach the choice of the time and necessity of the repeated operation, to increase the effectiveness of treating the patients after operations on the bile-excreting system.
