FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to clinical laboratory diagnostics and therapy. Patient’s age is recorded, and the quantitative content of soluble thrombomodulin in blood serum (sTM) is determined. A probability of thromboembolic complications P is calculated by formula, and if P is more than 0.58, a high risk of thromboembolic complications is predicted.
EFFECT: invention is intended for determining the risk of thromboembolic complications in patients with various types of nonvalvular atrial fibrillation.
