FIELD: methods of assessing the state of a communication channel.

SUBSTANCE: method of estimating the state of a communication channel in a communication system with broadband signals is characterized by that it is carried out on the duration of receiving a composite pseudorandom sequence. Broadband signal from the receiving device is transmitted to the matched filter through the adder, after processing by the matched filter of each next part of the composite pseudorandom sequence, from the first output of the matched filter, the delayed signal is transmitted to the adder via a feedback circuit, from the second output a signal with an autocorrelation peak is generated, which is transmitted to an amplitude detector. Thus, a signal with increasing amplitude autocorrelation peaks is generated, which is transmitted to threshold devices, at the end of receiving one composite pseudorandom sequence, the number of triggered threshold devices is summed up and the state of the communication channel is estimated from the calculated sum.

EFFECT: high frequency of updating information with evaluation of the state of the communication channel.
