FIELD: measurement technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to determination of platform height using unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). Essence of the proposed invention consists in the fact that in the method of determining the height of a platform from a tethered UAV on the lower point of the silicone rubber, made in the form of a shell along the entire length of the cable-rope of the tethered UAV, which is electrically powered by the UAV, superhigh-frequency (SHF) electromagnetic oscillations are excited with the possibility of their transmission and reception, oscillations from the excitation point along the outer surface of the silicone shell are directed towards the lower part of the UAV frame, representing an electrical contact of the end of the cable rope with the input of the electrical energy converter located on the UAV frame, vibrations reflected from the end of the cable are received and by converting the propagation speed of electromagnetic oscillations in free space c and time t for propagation of vibrations from the lower point to the upper point of the cable-rope and from the upper point to the lower points of the cable-rope height of platform from tethered UAV is calculated through length of cable-rope.

EFFECT: increased stability in determination of platform height from tethered UAV.
