SUBSTANCE: invention relates to computer engineering for processing audio data. Result is achieved due to the following steps: receiving an encoded audio bit stream, wherein the encoded audio bitstream includes audio data representing a portion of the low frequency band of the audio signal, and high-frequency recovery metadata, wherein the high-frequency recovery metadata include envelope scaling factors; decoding audio data to generate a decoded audio signal in a low frequency band; extracting high-frequency recovery metadata from the encoded audio bitstream; filtering the decoded audio signal in the low frequency band to generate a filtered audio signal in the low frequency band; and regenerating a portion of the high-frequency band of the audio signal using the filtered audio signal in the low-frequency band and high-frequency reconstruction metadata.

EFFECT: high quality of spectral patching or linear transfer for music content with low transition frequencies.
